Activity: In this lesson, we learned about stained glass. Everyone chose a picture design to use for this main piece. After we had chosen this, we traced it with a sharpie on a thin, plastic sheet. We then started to make some lines around the page to represent different pieces of glass. We needed to use 3 warm colors and 3 cool colors for this project. I chose to use all of my warm colors for the main design, and all of the cool colors for the background. We had colored in the project with sharpies. Once finished with the sharpies and all of the plastic was colored, we outlined our main design with puffy paint!
Extension Activity: This could be used as a math lesson. I would use this to teach about different shapes and designs. I would have them pick a design made out of shapes as well as make the background into different shapes, just as we had done! They can pick between squared, rectangles, triangles, or make it unique.
